Joan (Marven) Daulby

Joan moved from Vancouver to Whitby, Ontario where she met her husband, Frank. Joan and Frank presently live on their country property north of Barrie.
Joan has been a member of the Mariposa Writers' Group since November, 2006, as well as the founding member of the Writer's Cauldron since March, 2008.
In August, 2007, Joan won two awards from the Lake Country Literary Lapses writing contest in her prose and poetry entries—both of which have been printed in Our Literary Lapses, An Anthology by The Mariposa Writers' Group.
On December 23, 2009, The Packet & Times Paper, Orillia printed Joan's story, Walter Wind Rescues Santa, during their week-long celebration of the Christmas season. Joan has also had an article printed in Woman's Press magazine.
In Joan's honour as a children's writer, Lake Country Literary Lapses added a children's contest to their literary event—“The Joan Daulby Award for Young Writers.”
Joan has also written seven children's books. Her collection of stories about a wind named Walter has just been compiled into one larger book, now available.
